New Zealand is such a good market for the sale of tea that growers consider that further expansion is possible only through an increase in population, stated Mr. D. L. Rossiter, representative of Janies Findlay and Co.. Ltd., a firm of tea planters which was established in India during the time of the East India Company, and now lias holdings both in India and Ceylon. Mr. Rossiter, who is visiting New Zealand, said that efforts were being made to increase the consumption in Australia and the United States, but it was not considered necessary to attempt to increase the consumption a head in New Zealand. The Dominion, be said, was second only to Great Britain in the amount of tea which each person drank every year. The average annual consumption in the Dominion was about 81b., compared with only a quarter of a pound in the United States.
