ACCOUNTANTS MEET
Amendment of Legislation "The Labour Government has been in office for approximately 16 months, and a vast amount of legislation new to New Zealand, and much of it of an experimental nature, has been put through,” said the chairman, Mr. F. 11. Hayward, at the annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants this week. “I have no doubt that, much of this legislation will be amended during the coming session.” The meeting recorded its high appreciation of the services of Mr. 11. Valentine as a member of the Wellington committee, and the council of the society durj - the past ten years, ami conveyed its good wishes to his successor on the council. Mr. F. H. Bass. A vote of tli,-inks was also passed to Mr. S. G. Dailey for his efficient, service on the committee during the past, four years. Regret was expressed that he could not accept, nomination for another term. The chairman spoke in appreciation of the work of the secretary. Mr. F. E. Foist. The new committee consists of Wellington’s representatives on the council (Messrs. S, E. Lambert, IV. IT. Nankervis. and F. H. Bass), and Messrs. F. II Hayward. C. F. Worth, It. IT. D. Hall, and H. C. Bose. .Air. E. AV. A. Kellow was re-elected auditor. It was decided to make a special effort too ensure a satisfactory series ol winter meetings. • < ,< . A suggestion from the council that certificates of membership should be presented at a special meeting of the branch was approved.
