War in Mexico (From “Tho Dominion,’’ .Marell 11112.) A fierce battle is raging between the Mexican Federal troops and the revolutionaries in the neighbourhood of Juarez. Four hundred Federals are dead, and the bodies of one hundred rebels have been found. The result of the battle is unknown. The rebels hold a superior position on the surrounding heights, which the Federals are attacking. General Banquette, the Government leader, was seriously wounded. General Salas, Minister of War, is reported to have committed suicide.

Mr. James Bryce, British Ambassador to Hie United States, is sailing for New Zealand shortly. He has been several years writing a book on democracy, and is anxious to study New Zealand first hand.
