THOUGHT PROJECTED OVER 10,000 MILES

Astonishing Feats of Telepathy

An astonishing result of experiments in long-range telepathy was described to a “Sunday Express” representative recently.

Before the departure of the 1936 Ruttledge Everest expedition, Mrs. Charlotte Haldane, wife of Professor J. B. S. Haldane, arranged with Mr. C. J. Morris, chief transport officer of the expedition, that on the 12th of every month he would try to project thoughts to her when she was 10,000 miles away. On the same date she would try to divine them with the aid of a special pack of cards. “The whole thing wa.s purest experiment,” said Mrs. Haldane, “but I was sometimes successful in divining matters relating to Mr. Morris and his friends. back of which was written in ink some words, such as “For continuation, see next letter.’ “I then noticed that this, as well as the third envelope, h.ad been split open. “I said to myself, ‘A'h, yes; the coolies have opened them to steal the stamps.’ “Later 1 realised it was the 12th of the month. “On July 12 news reached me that the letters had been stolen.” Then later Mr. Morris’s letters were delivered to Mrs. Haldane. On the back of the envelopes wa.s a typed slip which had been gummed and franked over. It reads:

Nearly .1000 letters belonging to Hie expedition were stolen. This fact, predicted in the dream, was not verified until the members of it arrived al Gangtok on their way back to England.
