When washing chamois leather gloves, to keep them soft, amt pliable, add a little olive oil to the water. Benzine will remove grease from suede shoes, and warm bran clears away ordinary dingy marks. Paint splashes and putty may he removed from window-panes by rubbing them with hot vinegar.
| When cleaning brassware, apply the polish with a rag in the usual way, and when dry shine with newspaper. To improve a roast of beef, insert a I small piece of garlic into the centre of the roast before baking. Prunes are greatly improved by the addition of a few cloves and a little lemon juice.
