GRESFORD DISASTER
Critical Report by Court of Inquiry
(Received February 7, 6.30 p.m.)
London, February 6.
Socialists propose to seek a debate in the House of Commons on the subject of the report of the court of inquiry which investigated the Gresford colliery disaster in September, 1934. when 265 miners were killed.
The report sharply criticises the management, Government inspectors, union officials, and workmen for the “omission of precautions which might have prevented the disaster.” One member of the court urges legal proceedings against those he deems responsible.
