CAR THIEVES ACTIVE
Five Vehicles Removed From Parking Places
Motor-vehicle thieves were active during the week-end, and several cars and motor-cycles were reported to the police as missing. Both Wellington and the Hutt Valley were affected by unlawful conversions, and between Saturday uight and some time on Sunday morning three motor-cars and two motorcycles were removed from their parking places. One of the cars was taken from the railway yard at Lower Hutt, one from Britannia Street, Petone, and a third from Wright Street. A motor-cycle removal from Brooklyn was later found on fire in a vacant section in Arthur Street. The other motor-cycle belonged to the Wellington City Council traffic department, and was shifted from Courtenay Place between 10 and 10.10 p.m. on Saturday.
