CAUGHT IN WINCH
Man Hurt While Working on Boat Through being caught in a winch on the Hokitika, at Miramar Wharf, shortly after 4 p.m. yesterday, Mr. A. Ohlen, winchman, 16 Tyne Street, received a dislocated left hip and an injury to his body. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. Falling about 20ft. from the steel frame of the new Government Life Insurance building -yesterday morning, Mr. T. Tupoki, rigger, 7 Adelaide Road, fractured his right forearm and severely injured his right hip and shoulder. He was taken to hospital. A lacerated wound to his left forearm was received by Mr. W. Hicks, labourer, 4 Tennyson Street, when he was struck by a pick yesterday morning. The accident happened when Mr. Hicks was working on gas excavations in Nicholson Road, Khandallah.
