Ministerial. The Hon. 11. G. R. Mason, AttorneyGeneral and Minister of Justice, left Wellington last night for Auckland. He will return on Tuesday morning. Sir Harry McGowan, chairman and managing director of Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., who Is due to arrive at Wellington on February 22, and who was included in the New Year honours list, has assumed the title of the Rt. lion. Lord McGowan, according to a private cable message received in Wellington. Lord McGowan will spend three days in 'Wellington. Major-General A. Solly-Flood, C. 8., C.M.G.. D. 5.0., colonel of the Prince of Wales Volunteers (South Lancashire) and the 4th/sth Royal Dragoon Guards, arrived at Wellington yesterday in the Tamaroa from Southampton. Major-General Solly-Flood is on a health trip, and intends to visit several scenic resorts in the Dominion. Lieutenant-Colonel F. C. Lodge, C.M.G., D. 5.0., formerly of the Norfolk Regiment, was a passenger on the Tamaroa which arrived at Wellington yesterday from Southampton. The Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett, is visiting Auckland. Mr. Norton Francis arrived at Wellington by the Rangatira yesterday. Mr. R. Harrison, beadmaster of Richmond School, Christchurch, is at present, visiting Wellington. Mr. A. E. R. Gilligan, headmaster of Wanganui Collegiate School, who, with Mrs. Gilligan has been spending a holiday at the Hermitage, returned to Wanganui yesterday. Messrs. J. C. and A. C. Elworthy, Timaru, arrived at 'Wellington yesterday by the inter-island steamer expres. Mr. A. I. Cottrell has accepted a seat on the Court of Directors of the Royal* Humane Society of New Zealand. Surgeon-Commander A. W. Mcßorie, ot H.M.S. Dunedin, returned by the Wanganella after being on leave in Sydney. Mr. D. C. Fraser, Auckland, who has been visiting Wellington, returned north yesterday. Mr. W. J. Dyment, New Zealand traffic manager, Canadian National Railways, left for the south last night. Mr. J. J. W. Pollard, director of the Soutli Islands Travel Association, is visiting Nelson. He will return to Christchurch on February 11. Canon Percival James, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, returned to Wellington yesterday morning. He will join the Port Townsville for London. Mr. William Wallace returned to Auckland yesterday by the Limited from Wellington, where lie attended a meeting of the Hospital Boards' Association of New Zealand.

Croft, former Canadian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, will leave by the Aorangi on February 23 for Canada, where lie will spend a few months lief ore going to Tokio, where lie will be commercial secretary to the Canadian Legation. Professor S. J. Truscott, emeritus professor of mining at the University of London, is a round-trip passenger on the Tamaroa, which arrived at Wellington yesterday from Southampton. Professor Truscott, who was formerly examiner in mining for tlie University of New Zealand, is accompanied bj’ Mrs. Truscott.
