GOLF CLUB CHANGES
Alterations to Courses WAIWETU OPENING DATE Because there is a trotting meeting at Hutt Park on March 6. the official opening of the Waiwetu golf course as a public course may have to be altered, said Mr. 11. Firth, secretary of the Hutt Park committee yesterday. ■ 'Three of the holes would be shortened and a small i golf-house would be hunt near the first tee, he said. The course would be available to the public for l>h*j on March 1. but. the probable date tor tlio official opening ceremony would prom ably be the day after that originally Mr. W. Gregory, secretary of the Waiwetu Golf Club, said his club, whicht was moving to the Whakatiki links, at Upper Hutt, would probably open its new links about the middle of March. It was not proposed to make any alteration to the Whakatiki links at present, but preparations had been made for four new holes. The club had not yet had its annual meeting, but it was unlikely that they would be in use before the middle ot the season.
