HIDES IMPROVE Sheepskins Easier Sheepskins showed an easing, but hides had a better tone at the fortnightly sale held yesterday by the combined Wellington -brokers. The demand for sheepskins was not so strong. As compared wjth previous quotations, values for full wools were fully 4d. lower, and at times Id.; while short wools ruled firm. Halfbreds sold up to 17Jd., fine crossbreds to 17d., medium crossbreds to 15Jd., coarse crossbreds to 15fd. There was only a small offering of salteds, prices showing little change. There was a good demand for all descriptions of hides, and the market showed a better tone. Heavy, medium, and light ox were par to Id. better, heavy cows par, lights and medium l-Bd. to 3-Bd. easier. Kip values showed little change. Yearlings and calf were in request at last sales’ values, with the exception of mediumweight yearlings, which were slightly easier. Calf 1 to 511;., sold to 16 5-Bd., 6to 81b. to 15 5-Bd. In sympathy with' the overseas market, the export demand for tallow has quietened considerably, and values declined 1/- to to 2/- per cwt. Mixed, in drums, sold to 28/-. .
