Yesterday’s Business RETURN ON INVESTMENTS Sales recorded on Dominion Stock Exchanges yesterday are shown m the following list. In the second column is given the return based on the last annual dividend from investment at the quoted price. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration. The return on 4 per cent. Government loans includes redemption. In the case of 3A per cent, loans the return is for the interest alone, and covers only the period for which the loans are tax-free: — WELLINGTON’.
London Butter Market London, February 4. The butter market is firmer. Danish. 118/- to 120/- a cwt.: choicest salted New Zealand, 87/- to 88/-; Australian, 86/- to 87/-; unsalted New Zealand, 92/-; Australian, 90/- to 91/-. Cheese, New Zealand, white and coloured, 51/-; Australian, white 50/-, coloured 49/-. Eggs are easier and little is offering. Seventeens, 8/3; fifteens, 7/6. Wellington Poultry Market Prices of live poultry in the Wellington market this week are quoted by Towiusend and Paul. Ltd., as follows— Fowls: White Leghorns, hens, 1/6 to 2/3 each; cockerels, 1/- to 2/-; pullets, 3/- to 4/-. Black Orpingtons, hens (heavy), 2/6 to 4/6 each; (medium), 2/to 3/-; cockerels (heavy), 2/- Io 3/6; (medium), 1/6 to 2/-. Ducks: Indian Bunner, young, 3/- to 4/- each; old, 2/- to 3/-: white, heavy, 3/6 to 4/6. Geese, 3/- to 3/6 each. Turkeys, lOd. to 1/- per lb.
