BOXER INJURED

Unfit to Continue Contest By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, December 7. A professional heavyweight boling contest between “Deacon” Leo Kelly, of America, and Claude Nichol, of Australia, ended disappointingly shortly after the opening of the sixth round. At this stage Nichol appealed to the referee for an examination of his right arm, which he had been unable to use in the preceding round. Doctors pronounced him unfit to continue, and the match was awarded to Kelly on points. Nichol claimed an advantage up to the time of his retirement. He had the better of the weights, scaling 12.13 against Kelly’s 12.3, while he also had the advantage in height and reach.
