LAMBING RETURNS
Dominion Estimates For Current Year LARGE INCREASE SHOWN Large increases in the Dominion’s flocks are indicated in the lambing estimates for the current year, details of which were issued yesterday by the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. W. Lee Martin. The estimated number of lambs tailed in the North Island is 9,322,476, compared with an actual number of 8,500,075 last year. The South Island estimate is 7,539.576, against an actual number of 7,196,542 last year. The Dominion total estimate is 16,862,052, compared with an actual number of 15,696,617 for 1935. ■ ' The following tables afford a detailed comparison of the lambing figures for the last six years:— No. Estimated Actual No. of breed- average p.c. of lambs Year ingewes. of lambing. tailed.
