BRITISH TOBACCO CO. Increase in Net Profit British Tobacco Company (Australia), Limited, shows a net profit of £667,761 for the year ended October 31, compared with £585,949 for the previous year. Four quarterly dividends (!•} per cent., 1} per cent., 1J .per cent., and 2 per cefit.), absorb £569,412. and preference dividend of 6J per cent. £96,507. The balance, £1842, added to £34,771 brought forward, gives £36,613 to be carried forward, The profit and loss account does not include the interest of the company in the undivided profits of the subsidiary companies.
