REUNION DINNER

Chilton House Old Girls The annual dinner and reunion of the Chilton House Old Girls’ Association. was held at Chilton St. Janies, Lower Hutt, on Friday. The dinner table was charmingly decorated with flowers in shrimp and blue tones, and at each place was a spray of roses and maidenhair fern. As a gift, from the old girls to Mrs. Henry Smith, Miss Fitzgerald aud Miss Freeman, pottery vases of crimson roses were at their places at the dinner table. Miss Freeman had come from Christchurch to be present at the reunion. Numerous telegrams were read from old girls, both in the city and iu the country, who were unable to attend. Afterward, an adjournment was made to the library, where cheery tires were burning in the open fireplaces.’ Dainty occasional tables were dotted about, and the guests grouped themselves in a semi-eirclc round the fire while the annual report and balancesheet were presented by Mrs. C. H. Rogers and Miss Mary Wardell. Miss L. Finlay paid a tribute to the work of the secretary, and Mrs. Rogers and the treasurer, Miss Wardell. The association, which has been very active during the year, had given donations to the St. Barnabas's Babies’ Home, and provided stretchers for the newlyopened free kindergarten at Wellington South. ,

The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. Vickery; vice-presidents, Mrs. F. Maclean, Mrs. Robinson, Miss D. Isaacs, Miss L. Finlay; secretary, Mrs. C. H. Rogers; treasurer, Miss M. Wardell; committee, Mrs. Murie, Mrs. W. Wyatt, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. W. Rollings, Mrs. Robieson. Misses M. Murray, M. Ellis, N. Cramond, A. Davis, J. Eady, M. Houghton, J. Menteith.

Those present were addressed by Mrs. Henry Smith and Miss Fitzgerald, and the reunion concluded with the serving of supper.
