FATAL ACCIDENT
Elderly Couple Struck By Tram By 'Telegraph—Prese Association Auckland. November 16. While running to catch a city-bound tramear which was travelling along Three Klugs Road an elderly couple were struck by a tram going in tbe opposite direction. James Given, aged 7S. Pollock’s Settlement, suffered severe head injuries and died shortly after admission to hospital. His sister. Miss Susan Given, aged 70. Three Kings, was only slightly injured. Both Mr. and Miss Given were knocked to the ground, but Mr. Given received the'full force of the impact There was no other traffic besides tbe two trams at the time of the accident. Mr. Given had farmed in Pollock’s Settlement all his life.
