Contribute to Cost
The Government's proposal to buy an area at Paraparaumu for an emergency- landing ground for M’ellington, for use when conditions are not suitable at Rongotai, came before the Wellington City Council last night.
The subject was considered in committee. The Mayor, Mr. T. C..A. Hislop, announced after the meeting that the Government proposed to buy an area of approximately 150 acres. It bad asked if tlie council was prepared to meet half the cost. The council agreed lo contribute, provided Ilia! the cost was not more Ilian £l5OO. and also provided that all commercial and aero club machines should have tlie right to use the ground on conditions and at charges agreed upon between the council and the Government.
