HATAITAI BUSES

Improvements in Service

Improvements in the bus service to the Hataitai district are to be made by the Wellington City Council. On the recommendation of its tramways committee, the council last night adopted the following proposals

That the distance between the summit, Roseneath, and the Hataitai School, which has been divided into two sections since the inception of the service, be treated as one section as from December 1. 193(1.

That the buses at present leaving Courtenay Place from ,8.4.8 p.m. until 11 p.m. for Roseneath. run through to the Hataitai School, commencing December 1, 1936. That the Hataitai service from Waitoa Road be extended to include Te Anau Road for three months from December 1. 1936, as a trial measure. This will necessitate a reduction in the service from Waitoa Road from 10 to 12 minutes.

The alterations arise from representations made by the Hataitai Electors Association. The mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, said the changes would make a very great improvement in the service.
