New Zealand-Australian Discussions
'Fhe cabled comment from Sydney that the Australian Minister of Defence, Sir Archdale Parkhill, had held discussions with members of the New Zealand Government during bis visit last week regarding the embargo imposed by the Dominion against the ini portation of Australian fruit was the subject of comment by the Minister of Finance, Hom W. Nash, in .'in interview last evening, “The matter was certainly raised by Sir Archdale,” Mr. Nash said, “but it could not be carried any great distance. As has been previously stated, one of my first tasks after my return from my approaching visit to England will be to open up official discussions with the Commonwealth Government regarding reciprocal trade. The question of fruit and potatoes will then be given due prominence.”
