DANGEROUS DRIVING
Arthur Ilenrv Norrie, a storeman, was fined £2/10/- and costs in the Magistrate’s Court. Wellington, yesterday, on a charge of driving a motor-cycle in Adelaide Road on September 14 at a speed which, having regard to the circumstances. might have been dangerous to the public. . Sub-Inspector C. Roach said a tram was proceeding along Adelaide Road at 5 10 p.m.- on the day in question. Behind the tram were two cars, and behind them came defendant's motor-cycle at a speed of 35 to 40 miles an hour. There was a pillion rider with defendant. As the tram approached the Drummond Street intersection Norris passed the tram, zigzagging as he did so. A constable in the vicinity took his number. On a similar charge with respect to a motor-car, Clifton Keith Vercoe was fined £1 and costs. On August 28 defendant was driving a car in Tasman Street when a lorry made to turn in from Rugby Street. Defendant approached the intersection at a greater speed than the limit, and could not avoid the lorry, a collision occurring.
