YACHT CLUB DANCE

Presentation at Evans Bay The Evans Bay Yacht Club was ett fete last night, when a dance, which was well-attended in spite of the inclement weather, was held. The clubhouse was gaily decorated for the occasion with bunting and with a canopy of streamers in red, white and blue, the club colours. Festoons of tiny coloured lights and vivid Chinese lanterns added to the general gaiety of the scene. A buffet supper was served and music was supplied by an excellent orchestra. During the evening a presentation of an inscribed oak tray and silver tea service was made to Captain W. J. Keane, who was commodore of the club from 1032-1936, and Mrs. Keane. This was made on behalf of the members by the present commodore, Mr. A. C. Kellett, who asked Captain and Mrs. Keane to accept the gift as a token of the esteem In which they are held. The committee responsible for the arrangements were: Mrs. Haybittie, Mrs. Rough, Mrs. Keane, Mr. Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Rough, Mrs. Astil, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Brayshay.
