WEDDING INTERRUPTED

Man Charged With Murder Five minutes after leaving Liverpool Police Court acquitted of a charge of murder, James Patrick Brady, aged 27, dock labourer, of Orrell, was arm-in-arm with his bride-to-be. Brady was surrounded by friends and heartily congratulated. His arrest interrupted his wedding, but as his fiancee, Miss Susan Donnelly, explained, the couple intend making fresh arrangements and getting married as soon as possible. Brady was accused of murdering Frank Hoare, aged 44, dock labourer, of Liverpool, Explaining to the magistrate, Mr. John Loughlin, how the charge arose, Mr. J, R. After his arrest Brady said to a detective, “It is a pure accident as far as I am concerned. He was saying things about my girl and her parents, and he struck me, and, of course, I struck him. The last thing in my mind was to kill a man.” After hearing the evidence for the prosecution, the magistrate observed, “I am quite satisfied no jury would convict in this case, and there is no ease to answer.” Brady was immediately discharged.
