• Aero Club Activities ri Dominion Special Service. Masterton, September 15. Ouce again unfavourable weather conditions during the past week seriously handicapped flying by members of the Wairarapu Aero Qlub, only seven hourir flying being logged. , The monthly competition for one hours tree flying was held on Sunday, and resulted in a 1 win for 'Mr. A. Buchanan with 139 points, Mr. J.. V. Reid being second with 160 points. The conditions were far from good, with fairly heavy rain and a gusty wind, and in the circumstances it was to be expected that despite the generous handicap allowances, ■ the more experienced pilots would be, to the fore. (The first rounds of the competitions for

the Sir William Hunt Cup and the McDonald Rose Bowl wiU.be held on Sep tember 20. The cabaret which was held in tbe .' clubhouse last Saturday proved a great success, there being an attendance of more than 100 members and friends. Supper W provided by the women’s committee, and music was obtained by means of a radio amplifier arranged in the ceiling of the ballroom. The clubhouse now bears a very different appearance from what it did a few weeks ajso». and the committee responsible for the decorations, furnishing and arrangements for the cabaret, have been congratulated upon their work.
