RUGBY COLTS’ TOUR
Wellington Manager’s Report The Wellington Rugby colts won. golden opinions not only for their bright play but for their exemplary conduct both on and off the field on their recent tour to Gisborne, Wairoa and .Dannevirke, according to a report submitted to the management committee of the Wellington Rugby Union last night by the manager of the team, Professor E. J. Boyd-Wilson. He stated that there had been an attendance of 1500 spectators at the match at Gisborne, the takings amounting to about £59. During their stay in Gisborne the team visited the cemetery at Wairengapaki, where J. Ruru is buried. On the trip from Gisborne to Wairoa a stop was made at Morere, where the hot baths were enjoyed. The conduct of the colts, the manager concluded, was all that, could be desired, and thev won high praise on and off the field. H. H. Trapn proved himself an ideal captain, and F. Mollier gave good service as vice-captain. Next Saturday’s Matches. Permission was granted to play the following matches on Saturday next: Reserve Bank v. National Bank; Hibberd. Son, and Burns, Ltd., v. Gordon and Gotch (A/sia), Ltd.; Wellington Referees v. Manawatu Referees, at Palmerston North; Petone Club’s fourth grade team v. Pirate Club’s team, at Napier.
