POLICE STILL ACTIVE
Unsolved Murder at Waihou Valley By Telegraph—Pre® Whangarei, September 15. Although the staff has been reduced, the police have/by no means relaxed their efforts to solve the mystery surrounding the death of Ernest Deverin Nelson, who was found murdered on a Waihou Valley property. From a few hours after the discovery of the crime on the evening of June 9, the police have been continually on the trail and their inquiries, which have covered a wide area, have been most exhaustive. Apparently the reward of £250 offered by the Justice Department for information leading to the apprehension of the murderer has not borne fruit. Detective Sergeant Walsh, Defective A. Nalder and acting-Detectiv e Appelin, together with three constables, will continue to make their headquarters in Ranglahua Valley.
