Mrs. E. C. Griffin and Miss Non! Griffin will leave Wellington by the Awatea to-night for Auckland.
Miss Barbara Skeet, Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs. H. G. Skeet, New Plymouth.
Mrs. A. W. Press, Day’s Bay, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Wallace Wilton, Manaia.
Mr. and Mrs. H. B. S. Johnstone, Otaio, left Wellington for the south last night. Mrs. Theo Ashton was a passenger from Wellington last night for the South Island.
Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Virtue, Pitt Street, have returned to Wellington from a holiday visit to Rotorua. Mrs. J. P. Leahy, Napier, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hayward, Lower Hutt, has returned home.
Mrs. H. R. Thomas and Miss J. Thomas have returned to Wellington from Dunedin accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Sidey.
Mrs. E. A. Batt and her sister, Mrs. A. Beck, are leaving to-night by the Awatea for Australia on a short holiday.
Mrs. Douglas Lawson, Ashburton, who is leaving Wellington by the Awatea for Sydney, is the guest of Mrs. Alex Lawson, Percival Street. Miss Penelope Blundell, Heretaunga, and Miss Eileen Blundell, New Plymouth, who have been visiting the East, returned to Wellington by the Marama yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank 'Warder have returned to New Zealand after an absence of six months. They are spending a few days in Wellington before taking up residence in Stokes Valley. The many New Zealand friends of Miss Cathleen Somerville will be interested to learn of her forthcoming marriage to Mr. Neil MacKenzie Forbes, of Sydney. The wedding ceremony will take place at St. Stephen’s Church, Macquarie Street, Sydney, early in October. Miss Somerville is the elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Somerville, Palmerston North, and Mr. MacKenzie Forbes is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. N. MacKenzie Forbes, Wanganui.
