CONGREGATIONAL FAIR

Organised by.’the Women’s Guild, a floral fair was held in the schoolroom of the Trinity Congregational Church. Lower Hutt, on Saturday afternoon and evening. The schoolroom was gaily decorated, and formed a spring-like setting for the plentifully-stocked stalls. There were arches of' yellow flowers above the stalls and an archway of wistaria led to the stage. Mrs. Arthur Muriel, Wellington, who was introduced by Pastor Gilkison, opened the fair. Mrs. Muriel warmly congratulated the women on the excellent display 'and artistic decorations. Beverley Mond then presented a bouquet to Mrs. Muriel, a shoulder spray to Mrs. Kennedy, president of the guild, and a buttonhole to Pastor Gilkison. In the evening Mrs. Love, of Koro Koro. and her party, gave a delightful entertainment of Rarotonga’n arid Maori songs and dances. The stall-holders were: Plain stall. Mesdames Abraham and Little; fancy stall, Mesdames Mount and Sutton and Miss. Hickling: apron stall, Mesdames Morris and Hickling; cake stall. Mesdames Palmer and Kerry; produce stall. Mts. Jarvis and Miss Leggatt; sweet stall, Mesdames McLean and Seager ; icecream and cold drinks, Misses Elliott, Mount and McLean ; fancy stall, girls auxiliary, under Mesdames Mount and Hampton; afternoon tea, Mesdames Scotson and McGuehan.
