Adjournment of Conciliation Fixture COMPLAINT TO MINISTER By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 27. A suggestion that when a party to an industrial dispute fails to sit in conciliation the commissioner should be empowered to refer the dispute direct bo the Arbitration jOourt, is made in a letter sent to the Minister of Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) by the secretary of the Auckland Furniture Trades Union (Mr. A. 11. Dixon). He complains that disputes for the hearing of which he had obtained fixtures had been adjourned, and when asked for the reason the commissioner (Mr. M. J. Reardon) had said that the dates did not suit Mr. W. E. Anderson, secretary of the Auckland Employers’ Association. Mr. Dixon adds that for the past five years the Labour movement has suffered this treatment by employers.
