Salesman Dies on Way io Hospital
APPARENTLY GASSED BY EXHAUST FUMES
Found by his mother unconscious beneath his motor-car in its garage shortly before 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, Mr. Lionel Johnson, motor-salesman, aged 28, who lived at 166 Oriental Parade, died shortly afterward. The engine of the car was running when he was found, and death is believed to have been due to carbon monoxide gas poisoning. Mr. Johnson, who was a single man, was a partner in the Wellington firm of Independent Motor Sales, and it is understood that he had had the car for only a few days. Dr. D. M. Wilson was summoned, and ordered his immediate removal to hospital by the Free Ambulance, but he died before th e hospital was reached.
