JOYFUL EVENING

Lower Hutt Studio Dance Hundreds of dancers approached Mi«s Eva Draper’s studio, Lower Hutt, on Saturday evening by means of a "gangway” which led to “11.M.5. Joygerm, where “Popeye" merrily entertained his nautical friends, w!ho all wore naval hats. The studio had been transformed into an excellent representation of a ship. Lifebuoy*’, and portholes which were illuminated with concealed lights, provider a realistic touch, and the members ot Bolton’s Orchestra wore naval hats and jersevs. Multi-coloured streamers and sausage balloons were effectively used in decoration. , . , „ A burlesque ballet, in which lopeye figured prominently, caused much amusement. ' Two small pupils of Miss Draper, Mervin and Winsom Smith, danced the rumba. Miss Draper’s frock was of pink and gold matalasse with yoke and epaulettes of gold sequins.
