Retained by Conservatives (Received July 24, 7.45 p.m.) London, July 24. The Balhani and Tooting by-election caused by the resignation of Sir Alfred Butt resulted: Donald (Coiiservative) .... 14,959 Miller (Labour) 12,889 Only 49 per cent, of the electorate voted.
At last year’s general election the voting was: Sir .Alfred Butt (Conservative), 22,013; W. D. Lloyd (Labour), 12,960.
