W.D.F.U. PAHAUTEA BRANCH
The monthly meeting of the W.D.F.U. took place in the Pahautea Hall, Mrs. S. Grant presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. Mrs. Grant gave a lengthy and interesting report on the Dominion conference. Mrs. Frend gave a humorous reading which was much appreciated. The competition for the month (the best article made from one yard of calico) was won by Mrs. L. McKenna, with Mrs McKav second. Afternoon tea was served 'by Mesdames Bargh, Cade and McKenna.
Invitations have been issued for the annual dance of t'he Wellington branches of the Nelson Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association and the Nelson College Old Boys’ Association, to be held in St. Francis Hall next Friday. This dance is always one of the most popular of the season, and the combined committees of the two associations may be relied upon to make arrangements for this enjoyable occasion perfect in every detail. A large attendance is anticipated this year.
