Tal'frail is one of those comfortable authors whose work one can depend upon for evenness of quality and certain entertainment value. To sit down with a new boqk by him is to be sure of a few hours of good fun and excitement. and certainly his latest, “Mystery at .Milford Haven” is no exception to tills, particularly in the way of excitement. The trouble all begins when a retired naval officer upon an impulse attends an auction sail! and buys an island in Milford Haven with no clear idea of what he is going to do with it. Unfortunately for his comfort, another party who has missed Hie auction wants possession of Hie island and moreover lias very definite ideas of what lie intends to do about it. Before Hie whole affair is cleared up to tlie satisfaction of Hie retired N. 0., there is much ado about murder and lots of rapid action, all related in the best Taff rail manner.
