PALACE, PETONE
Adapted from the Jeffery Farnol novel of the same mime, “The Amateur Gentleman” will screen this afternoon, to-night, and Monday night at the Palace Theatre, I’etone. It is set in the Regency period, when money flowed freely and honour was defended at the point of the sword. Douglas Fairbanks, jun., plays the role of Barnabas Barty, who enters London societv in an effort to clear tas father of a false charge of theft. His love affair with Lady Cleone, his fathers escape, and the subsequent unmasking o£ the real criminal make a fast-moving story. Supporting Fairbanks, jun., are Elissa Landi and Gordon Harker.
