AN EMPIRE TRAIN
Project For British Tour Next Year London, July 22. A project of an Empire train to tour Great Britain during the Coronation year, suggested by the Victorian AgentGeneral, Sir Richard Linton, is to be considered. The Dominions Secretary, Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, has approved the project. Earl Elgin, presiding at a special meeting of Empire representatives, stated that it would be a gesture of loyalty to the King and an excellent means of educating England to the significance of the Empire. The estimated cost of a tour of six months by a train of 10 vehicles is £37.000.
