N.Z. RUGBY TOUR

Australian Team May Be Changed

The variation in laws, regarding kicking into touch, will probably be observed on the tour o£ the Australian Ruby team in New Zealand in August. The Dominion Rugby Unions were granted dispensation to vary the law, and the New Zealand union lias expressed the opinion that it would be in order for Australia and New Zealand to adopt the law for Test matches. The management committee of the New South Wales union will formally approach the New Zealand union on the matter.

It has been decided that the medical examination for members of the Australian team will take place after Saturday, August 1. The team will leave Sydney on August 13. Though there was a suggestion that the selected full-back, K. P. Storey, might be unavailable, for business reasons, the “Sydney Morning Herald’.’ says Storey is able to make the trip, but that paper believes that the young second row forward, E. Hutchinson, it? doubtful whether he will be able to accept the invitation to tour because of interference with his studies at Sydney University. The New Zealand team to play the Australians at Wellington on September 5 will be chosen at Auckland on August 22, after the selectors have seen the North-South Island match at Christchurch on August 15. The New Zealand players will be kept together after the game in view of the second match at Dunedin on September 12.
