OLD BEDEANS MEET
Ex-Pupil For Oxford University
Members of the Wellington branch of the St. Bede’s College Old Boys Association. Wellington branch, at their seventh annual meeting last night decided to congratulate an old boy, Father Basil Blake, S.M., M.A., the first member of the Marist Order in New Zealand selected to study at Oxford University.
The president (Mr. B. S. Rundle) welcomed two new members, Messrs. P. D. McGavin (a member of the undefeated first XV of 1934, in which the college won all its grades, and former college oratory champion) and G. P. R. Gifford (former head prefect and former first XI captain).
August 22 was fixed for the date of the annual meeting. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. B. S. Rundle; committee, Messrs P. Duncan, J. F. McDermott and K. R. P. Hancock; honorary secretary, Mr. D. Lagan. .
