In the liveliest and most entertaining bout seen in Masterton this season the New Zealander Lofty Blomfield (16st. 61b.) defeated the American Cowboy Ruesell (lost.) to-night by one fall gained in the fourth round with an octopus clamp. The municipal hall was crowded to the doors, and throughout the bout the crowd cheered and clapped excitedly, especially in the last round, when it looked as though Russell, who was the favourite, would take the equalising fall
