RUGBY CONTROL
Preparing All Blacks For , Australians The management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union last night decided that the New Zealand team which plays Australia in Wellington on September 5 should play a match against South Canterbury at Timaru on September 9 on the way to Dunedin for the second match with Australia on September 12. Mr. S. S. Dean, the chairman, said it would be better to keep the players together after the first match than for them to disperse after the first game and assemble for the second. ' A convenient way of doing that would be to play a game at Timaru. Mr. F. T. Glasgow considered there might be a clash between the New Zea-land-South Canterbury match at Timaru and the Australia-North Otago game at Oamaru' on the same day. He moved that the All Blacks play at Ashburtofi. This was not seconded, and it was decide'd’ to play a match at Timaru. General Business. United (Palmerston North) invited the Australian and New Zealand Maori teams to the annual ball of the club on September 23. Mr. R. W. Blazey (Christchurch) was appointed as referee for the Buller-Marl-borough match at Westport on July 25. Reinstatements Approved. The following reinstatements were approved:—W. J.
