LONG TOW ENDED
Kalingo and Rosamond at . Auckland By Telegraph—Press Association Auckland, July 22. • After an eventful trip, during, which the towline snapped twice, the Kalingo reached Auckland with the oil hulk Rosamond in tow. The Kalingo - left Wellington on Thursday. She encountered a strong gale and heavy seas on the East Coast. About midnight on Saturday the towline snapped, and the Rosamond began to drift toward the coast. She was picked up after daybreak on Sunday, but the weather was too rough to launch a boat. The Kalingo hove-to and the Rosamond was picked up again after daybreak on Monday just clear of Lottin Point. A line was attached, and the tow resumed, but when passing Matakawa Point the line again parted. A boat was launched, and the Rosamond was taken into the shelter of Hicks Bay, and later was brought on to Auckland without further incident. ■
