DUTCH AIR SERVICE
Permit for Extension to Australia Possible
(Received June 22, 10.50 p.m.) London, June 22.
The Australian Associated Press news agency understands that after the completion of the Anglo-Australian air mail discussions, the Australian Government will most likely allow the K.L.M. Dutch air line to extend its service to Australia, especially if the air mail takes the north coast route. Thus, if the permit is granted, K.L.M. will land planes at Darwin and fly them overland to Sydney. Mr. R. G. Menzies, Commonwealth Attorney-General, who visited Holland and had a conference with the manager of the K.L.M. line, states that he has heard the case advanced on behalf of K.L.M. for an extension of their service to Australia, which will require no subsidy or Government support.
