Ministerial. The Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, Prime Minister, who has not been out of Wellington since Christmas, will visit Waitara at the week-end for the purpose of attending the unveiling of the Sir Maui Pomare monument. In view of the fact that the Taranaki Maori Trust Board has issued invitations to Ministers. members of Parliament and representative citizens to attend the unveiling ceremony, it is probable that a special train will leave Wellington on Friday night. The Hon. W. Nash. Minister of Finance, will leave Wellington this morning for Hawera, where he will open the winter show. The Hon. P. Fraser, Minister of Education, will leave Wellington to-morrow for the Manawatu and Taranaki districts.

The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Railways and Industries and Commerce, returned to Wellington yesterday from Christchurch.

The Hon. F. Jones, Postmaster-Gen-eral, and the Hon. W. Lee -Martin, Minister of Agriculture, will return to Wellington this morning from Dunedin. The Hon. H. T. Armstrong. Minister of Labour, the Hon. R. Semple. Minister of Public Works, and the Hon. P. C. Webb. Minister of Mines, are due back in Wellington this morning from Canterbury. The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, will leave Wellington to-morrow evening for Auckland.

Sir William Hunt left Wellington last night for the South Inland.

Mr. J. B. Macassey, Dunedin, left Wellington f<s the south last night.

Mr. T. C. Brash, secretary of the Dairy Board, left Wellington last night for the South Island. Mr. F. G. Hall-Jones was a passenger for the south last night from Wellington. Mr. W. H. Bennett has returned home from hospital, but is still confined to his bed.

Mr. Quentin Donald, Masterton, accompanied by Mrs. Donald, left Wellington last night for the south. Professor G. S. Perea, principal of Massey Agricultural College, left Wellington for’the South Island last night.

Mr. C. R. Hervey, of General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Wellington, is visiting Christchurch, and. will return to Wellington to-morrow morning. Major N. E. Cobbald, a retired English army officer, was an arrival at Wellington yesterday by the Union liner Makura from San Francisco. Mr. H. S. Lawrence, Christchurch manager for Dalgety and Company, Ltd., is visiting the North Island. He will be away from Christchurch for two or three weeks. Mr. H. S. Manning, former manager for the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Ltd., at Rarotonga, arrived at Wellington by the Makura yesterday on transfer. Mr. J.‘ C. Brown, general manager of the Westport Coal Company, Ltd., returned to Wellington by the Union liner Makura from San Francisco yesterday following a holiday visit to the United States.

Mr. C. G. Badger, a film director of Columbia Pictures, Hollywood, ie a through passenger to Sydney on the Union liner Makura, which arrived at Wellington yesterday from San Francisco.

Mr. C. Egerton Lowe, examiner for the Trinity College of .Music, London, arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Union liner Makura from San Francisco. He will conduct the college’s examinations in the North Island this year.

Mr. L. Saggers, engineer at the Trentham racecourse to the Wellington Racing Club, returned from Sydney by the Monowai yesterday after inspecting the totalisator which is being built for the club at Sydney, Mr. Saggers was accompanied by Mrs. Saggers. Inspector R. Fleming, of the Tasmanian police, accompanied by Mrs. Fleming, arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Monowai yesterday Mr. Fleming is on a holiday trip, and intends to spend several weeks in the Dominion.

Mr. D. G. Ball, Inspector of Native Schools, will leave by the Aorangi from Auckland to-day to attend a conference On native education at Honolulu. The conference will be representative of all countries concerned with the problem of native education, with particular reference to Pacific problems. Mr. W. Hald, a director of ScheringKahlbaum (Aust.), Ltd., chemical manufacturers, accompanied by his wife, arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Monowai yesterday. Mr Hald intends to spend about three weeks in New Zealand on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mr. E. Casey, assistant general manager of New Zealand Railways, accompanied by Mr. A. Urquhart, stafl superintendent and general inspector, returned to Wellington by the Monowai yesterday after attending the Australasian railway conference in Brisbane Mr. Casey and Mr. Urquhart subsequently made a study of the systems of organisation in the various States,
