Australia v. Wellington Soccer Match RUGBY ATTRACTIONS A wide field of attractions will be open to those who intend to spend to-days holiday on the playing fields.

Australian Soccer Team.

There should be a large attendance, at the Basin Reserve to see the Association football match between the Australian team and the Wellington representative eleven. Play will commence at 2.4 a p.m., and a curtain-raiser will be staged at I.la .p.m.

Rugby Programme.

The Wellington Rugby Union has arranged a good programme for patrons. The' match for the day will be the meeting of the Wellington College Old Boys and Poneke fifteens at Athletic Park, at 3 p.m., in the senior A, first division, championship. _ . , A seven-a-side tournament for junior grades will be played to-day. The junior and third grade teams will play at Lyall Bay, the fourth grade teams at.Kilbirme, and the fifth grade teams at Wakefield Park, play commencing for all grades at 930 a.m. The finals in all grades will be played at Athletic Park as curtainraisers to the senior match. At 2.45 o’clock this afternoon the Hutt senior fifteen will play a match agaiifst the Athletic club (Levin) on the Hutt Recreation Ground. A house match will be played on Kelburn Park at 10 o’clock this morning, when a City Council team will meet a Harbour Board fifteen. The Seatoun and Rongotai College Ota Boys Ttugbv Fotball Club will play three matches to-day at Seatoun Park. At 12.45 p.m. Rongotai College Old Boys will play the College fifteen; at 1.40 p.m.. Foxton juniors. will play Seatoun juniors; and at 3 p.m. Foxton seniors will play Seatoun seniors. Inter-Varsity Match. At 10 a.m. a match will be played between a New Zealand universities’ team and Victoria College Old Boys, and at 11.15 a.m. Combined Universities will meet a Wellington eleven. Women’s Hockey Tournament. A representative women’s hockey match between Wellington and New Zealand universities will be played at Karori Park this morning, commencing at 9.20 o’clock. At the conclusion of the representative match the annual seven-a-side tournament, conducted by the Wellington Women’s Hockey Association, will be played, section play in the senior grade, commencing at 11.10, and in the junto at 9.30. League Football. The Wellington Rugby League will play two town v. country matches at Newtown Park this afternoon. A reserve grade ‘tnatch, Hutt Valley v. City, will be played at 1.30 p.m., and senior grade fifteens, Hutt Valley v. City, will play at 3 p.m. Harriers. The Scottish Harrier Club will hold a five-miles handicap inter-club race today, starting from St. Giles Church, Kilbirnie, at 11 a.m. Indoor Bowls. An indoor bowling tournament will be held to-day at the Winter Show greens. Niue rinks will be engaged, and play will commence at 9 a.m. Basketball. Following are the Wellington Basketball Association’s fixtures for to-day:— Senior A grade: Mount Cook, 2 and 3, 10.30 a.m.

Senior B grade: Mount Cook, 1 and 4, 9.30 a.m. Third grade: Mount Cook, 5 and 6, 9.30 a.m.

Fourth grade: Hataitai, 1,2, and 3, 9.30 a.m.

Fifth grade: Hataitai, 4,5, and 6, 9.30 a.m.

■Sixth grade: Mount Cook, 2 and 3, 9.30 a.m.

The Golf Card. The follovving is to-day’s golf programme : — Miramar: Match between president's and captain’s teams; fourballs in the morning and singles in afternoon. Manor Park: Teams’ match. Shandon: 36-holes medal match. Fourball best-ball event for women. _ Mornington: Senior, intermediate, and junior tournaments, Bogey competition in morning, and fourball best-ball competition in afternoon. Waiwetu: Stroke and dual stroke event in morniqg; bogey and fourball bogey in afternoon. Judgeford: Teams’ match. Titahi: One-day tournament. Wrestling. The day’s festivities will be nicely rounded off with the wrestling contest at the Town Hall to-night, when the star performers will be Lofty Blomfield, of New Zealand, and Jack Forsgren, of Canada. Amateur bouts will precede the main contest.
