Butter Quiet at 106/-

' LESS DEMAND

The London butter market was very much quieter last week, prices for New Zealand receding about 5/- a cwt. to 106,to 107/-. The New Zealand retail price is now 1/1 a lb., with Danish at 1/2. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1550 tons, compared with 1052 tons for the previous week, and 1447 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were 1135 tons, against 1377 tons a year ago. New Zealand butter in store now totals 5221 tons, including .1390 tons ex Hie Rangitane, compared with 4800 tons for the previous week, and 6175 tons a year ago. Australian stored butter amounts to 4099 tons, against 8440 tons a Tlie cheese market also eased last week, New Zealand white and coloured being quoted at 59/- to 59/6, against 61/- for the previous week. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 16,Si i crates, against 26,283 crates a. year ago, while the quantity in store is 90,1110 crates, including 15.720 erate_s ex the Rangitane, compared with 168,533 crates a year ago. Minimum f.o.b. Prices. The Dairy Board has fixed the minimum prices for f.o.b. and c.i.f. sales on. the basis of: Butter, 13Jd.; cheese, 6Jd. The minimum prices are subject to agents’ selling commission of 1J per cent. The prices are equivalent to 108/1 c.i.f.e. for butter and 55/4 ci.f.e. for cheese. Agents Reports. The New Zealand Producers’ Co-opera-tive Marketing Association’s weekly cabled* market report from London, dated June 19, is as follows: —Butter: Market quiet. New Zealand, 106/- to 107/-; Danish, 112/- to 113/-. Cheese: Market quiet. New Zealand, white and coloured, 59/- to Mr. Thomas Gray has received the follofing- cable from Rowson and Co., Ltd., London, dated June 19:—‘Cheese: New Zealand, white and coloured, 59/- per cwt. Butter: New Zealand finest grade, 107/per cwt. Both markets quiet. A. H. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their principals, W. Weddel and Co., Ltd., dated London, June 19:—Markets quiet; no demand. Butter: Danish, 114/-; New Zealand, finest, 106/-: Kangaroo, finest, 105/-. Cheese: New Zealand, white and coloured, 59/-.
