CHILLED BEEF EASIER -jB Lamb market: Steady and unchanged. More seasonable weather, improving consumption. Mutton-market: Wethers, demand good and prices for lightweights better. Ewes, trade slow.

Beef market: Frozen beef nominal. Chilled beef easier owing to increased supplies and warm weather. New Zealand porker pigs: Firm, owing to short spot stocks. Lightweight Wethers Firm

The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office as at close of business last week. Lightweight wethers are in good demand. Trade in ewes is slow. The demand and prices for lambs are steady. Larger supplies of chilled beef have caused prices to weaken. Wethers, light. 4 l-Bd. to 5 1-8(1. per lb.; heavy. 3 5-8(1. to 4(1.; ewes, 3}d. to 4}d.; lambs, 2’s, 7 1-8(1. to 7 3-Bd.; S’s, 6 5-Bd. to 6 7-Sd.; 4’s, 6 3-Sd. to 6}d.; seconds, 6}d. to 7 l-Bd.; chilled beef, hinds, 4}d. to 5d.; fores, 2 7-Sd. to, 3 l-Bd. Compared with last week’s quotations, lamb is unchanged.
