At the Gisborne sale fat sheep were unchanged. Ewes, superior, 18/6 to 1 0 /3. average, 15/2 to 17/-; 18/3; second grade ewes, 13/1 to 14/7. Stores: A moderate entry met with a slack sale, last week’s keen values not being maintained. Breeding ewes, sixyear, 19/- to 22/4; five-year, 24/6; five and six-year, 18/4 to 22/s four, six and eight-tooth, 23/6: two-topths 22/6, 25/6 to 26/3; wethers, medium, 19/7 ; fat and forward, 22/-; empty ewes, good mouths, forward, 14/-; fair 9/1; medium twotooths, 22/3; good hoggets, .16/4 to 16/8. Beef: Station cows, finished, IW/-, unfinished, 85/-; Jerseys, to 67/-; hellers, 72/-; vealers, 35/-. Hunterville Values At the Hunterville sale, last Thursday Dalgety and Co., Ltd, had a fair entry of sheep and a small entry of cattle, lhe demand was slack for breeding ewes, the majority of the yarding being passed in at auction. Several lines, of useful hoggets were submitted, which sold under fair competition. Romney wether hoggets, 12/6, 14/6, 17/3; four and five-year ewes, 22/-. Oroua Downs Clearing Sale The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd, held a clearing sale at Oroua Downs on account of Mr. S. W. Curran last Tuesday. .(The cows, which were mostly Friesians, met good competition, particularly those coming to profit early in the season. Horses, pigs and implements also met with a ready market, and were sold at very satisfactory prices. _ July and August culvers, £7, *7/10/-, £B, £B/15/-, £9, £9/5/-, to £10; good hter calvers. £3/15/-, £4, £4/15/-, £5, £o/10/to £6/10/-; backward and three-quarter cows, £2/15/-, £4; two-year heifers (springing T, £5, ward two-year heifers, £2/10/-, £2/17/6, small weaner heifers, 24/-; breeding sows, £2/14/-, £3/15/- to £4. Ihakara Clearing Sale A most successful clearing sale was held by Abraham and Williams, Ltd., last week, on the property of Mr. T. Bleakley, Ihakara, who is leaving the district for the Waikato. A total clearance was effected under the hammer of the herd of over 70 Jersey and Jersey cross cows in good condition. The top price for July and August calves was £ll, while the average price was £6/12/6. Dairy stock: Best July and August calves, £B/10/- to £11: calvers. £5 to £8; empty .cows in milk, £3 to £4/15/-, yearling heifers, £2/15/-; two-year bulls, £4/15/- to £5.
