GOVERNOR RESIGNS

Mt. J. C. Denison Pender, governor and joint, managing director, has resigned from Cables and Wireless Ltd., it is believed owing to a disagreement regarding policy. The “Daily Telegraph” says that another director may also resign. , The “Daily Mail’s” City editor says that Mr. Pender’s resignation coincides with rumours of widespread changes in Imperial communications. It is suagested that the Government is like y to take over an interest in the cable and wireless combine for strategical purposes, appointing a nominee as a director on the board.
