THE CHILDREN’S PLAYERS
A preliminary social meeting in connection with the Children’s Players took place at 44 Fitzherbert Terrace yesterday afternoon. Plans for the constitution and agenda to be brought forward at ' the public meeting on Thursday, June 25. at 4.15 p.m., in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute, were dislt is hoped that as many as possible of the original Children’s atre members will attend this meeting'.
Among interested persons present yesterday were: ‘Madame Bligh, Madame E. de Manny. Mrs. A. D. Key, Mrs. F. A. Knight. Mrs. Jesson, Misses Carwell-Cooke, E. Page, N. E. Donovan. F. Richardson, and D. L Tanner.
The Younger Set Club of Wellington has issued invitations for its annual ball, to be held in the Mayfair Cabaret on July 1. The committee has all arrangements . well in hand, and everything augurs. well for a most entertaining evening. Mrs. Burgess, Roseneath. Crescent, was hostess at a recent party in honour of Mrs. Cooper and her daughter Molly who will leave for Australia shortly The rooms were tastefully decorated with spring flowers. Among those Pfesetn were Mesdames Watson, Aulin, Strangmure, Murphy, Gibson, Pollock, Dredge, Trem ba th, Matthews. Watts.
The eleventh annual Treasury ball is to be held in the New Majestic Cabaret on June 30.
