HEAVY LOSS FACED BY COMPANY
Police to Investigate Miramar Fire
Considerable loss has been caused the M’inget, Black Company by the tire that damaged the factory near the Miramar gasworks on Monday night. Neither the building nor the plant was insured. The manager of the company, Mr. E. Turksma, told ’‘The Dominion’ yesterday that he was not able to say how the lire started. He had placed the ease in the hands of detectives, and was having full inquiries made. Mr. Turksma said the drum of benzine that was removed during the fire to a safe place was in a concrete benzine store about 50 feet from the seat of the lire. The fine-screened coke reported to have fed the flames was not used in the manufacture of the Works turned out by the factory. The substance used was screened clinker, which did not. and would not, burn.
